Kid's Day a Success for UB
2,000 kids from the Buffalo region came out to watch the Women's Basketball game this past week and they all seemed to thoroughly enjoy the event! The events focus was on being a Bull NOT a Bully!
With Carissa McKenna on the Mic, her MC-ing skills got the kids all fired up! Student-Athletes came up before the game and taught the kids some chants to use during the game. Also, many of them interacted with the kid's prior to and during the game!
Thank you to all who came out on this awesome day for UB Athletics and support the Kid's and Women's Basketball!!!
Women's Volleyball Kills it in Their Final Game!!!
With the regular season coming to an end the Women's Volleyball team ended their season with style; beating Kent State in 4 sets! It was a tough fight, and most of the match was very close, but the Bulls prevailed with a victory in their final game.
As usual the student-athletes came out to support the team! The Bulls are very young and will not be graduating any Seniors this year, which should translate into an extremely successful 2013 Season! Great job to Women's Volleyball this year and thank you to all the student-athletes who came out to support them throughout the season!

Cold Night for UB Soccer Season Ender
The weather was similar to the cross country meet at the UB Men's Soccer game on Friday night. It was raining, maybe sleeting, and I can't believe I'm saying it...but it may have, just may have snowed for a tiny second. But nonetheless, the weather was frigid! Although the weather conditions were poor that did not stop the awesome turn out of student-athletes to watch the Men fight for a playoff birth against Northern Illinois. Although the Bulls ended up losing the match 1-0, it was hard fought and their fellow student athletes were behind them the whole way!
The Men finished their season strong, winning 3 out of their last 4 games; beating Florida Atlantic, Western Michigan and Hartwick in the process. Thank you to all who came out and showed their support for the UB Men's Soccer game this past weekend!

XC MAC Championships!
Saturday morning I found myself at an unfamiliar event: a Cross Country meet. I had never been to a Cross Country race in my entire life up until this past Saturday, and it made a lasting impression on me... Running is a sport where most people think about the sun, the warm air racing over their face as they lightly glide across the ground at a leisurely pace and enjoying the view. At the XC MAC Championships it was nothing but the opposite of what I expected! There was NO sun, NO warm air, and the ground was soaked; making the track very challenging for the runners. As the runners came storming out of the gate and racing for initial position in the lead pack, I was standing on the sidelines with many crazed UB fans thinking to myself, how do they do that?!? How do they run so fast and not get tired, like...ever!
The Women's race was first, our ladies did very well, finishing in 7th place. They fought very hard till the end, and to see the Bulls Pride and Spirit that was shown by our Student-Athletes was an awesome scene! As the Bulls crossed the finish line one at a time the fans from UB went crazy yelling positive things at our racers, encouraging them to push through to the end!
Up next was the Men's portion of the MAC championship. Our Men finished 5th in the Championship, with 3 All MAC performers. The MAC honored Mike Pressler with All-MAC First Team, while Zach Ahart and Zach Krause were All-MAC Second team. The fans were just as crazy as they were for the Women's portion of the event and rallied our Men runners through the finish line.
In both events, I found myself screaming at the top of my lungs, encouraging our runners to move as fast as they could in order to finish more quickly, (I'm not sure me yelling like that did anything, but it felt good and we did seem to pull ahead a few places at the end, so maybe it did work! Who knows?!).
Although the race day was cold and wet and my socks were soaked! I found it to be an extremely fun and exhilarating event to attend this Fall in the Buffalo region.
A HUGE thank you to the support from all our Student-Athletes that attended, but an even BIGGER thanks to Rowing and Softball whose attendance was off the charts!!!
